Aidan Doughty, or as he was unfortunately nicknamed in high school “Aids,” has lived many lives in his 28 years of life. Aidan was born in Jacksonville, Florida on May 15th, 1997. Shortly thereafter, Aidan’s parents moved to St. Augustine, Florida where Aidan would spend the remainder of his childhood.
Much like any kid would, Aidan dreamed big and set his sights high. His first dream was to become a backup quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He’s quoted saying, “Dad I want to be a backup quarterback; you get all the money, and you don’t have to get hit.” Even at his young age his intelligence shone.

That intelligence got him far in life. In 2015 Aidan graduated from St. Augustine High School, where he was captain of the soccer team, member of the Key Club and took a full schedule of AICE classes.
One of the first trying times of Aidan’s life was on one fateful day in his junior year at St. Augustine High School. After being denied by the University of Florida, he received news that he had gotten accepted to Florida State University. Was it time for Aidan to give up on his lifelong dream of being a Florida Gator? No. That day he left the house in a Gator hoodie and was later accepted to the University of Florida after going through their appeal process.
While attending the University of Florida in Gainesville Aidan took a chance at life overseas and applied to study abroad in Aberdeen, Scotland. He was accepted and so began his solo journey in the land of Scotts. While abroad, Aidan continued his studies of Statistics and Economics as well as his love and passion for soccer, or as he would call it, football. He participated in football at the University of Aberdeen, playing against other local Universities in the area.

Upon arriving back to Gainesville, Aidan walked into the University of Florida Soccer building and said, “I’ll work for free.” This master negotiation tactic worked in Aidan’s favor, and they created a volunteer position for him to use his statistics degree and clothes washing abilities to help the team. After being with the team for two seasons he was upgraded from a volunteer position to a paid one, while duties remained relatively the same.
After graduating from the University of Florida with two bachelor’s degrees and one master’s, Aidan took his talents to Louisiana State University where he studied law and was a member of the LSU Women’s soccer staff. In his third year at LSU Law, Aidan was named Managing Editor of “Louisiana Law Review,” and was offered an internship with international law firm – Baker Botts. He went on to graduate magna cum laude from LSU Law and signed an employment contract with Baker Botts that summer.

And that brings us to today. Aidan is an associate at Baker Botts, specializing in mergers and acquisitions from their Houston office. He remains passionate about the game of soccer, the Jacksonville Jaguars and most importantly, the Florida Gators; no matter how far into enemy territory his career takes him.
